The Layoff That Changed Everything
In April 2025, I was part of a company-wide layoff. Even though my departure was due to internal restructuring—and not tied to my performance—I chose to stay an extra month until May. As a forward-deployed engineer who worked directly with clients, I felt a deep responsibility to ensure everything was wrapped up properly before I left and i was compensated for the extra month.
I completed the project to its agreed v1, created detailed handover documentation, and transitioned the work quietly to a trusted colleague—without the client ever knowing. That’s the kind of quiet professionalism I stand for.
